The paper presents an overview of the collective monograph prepared by the staff of the Department of Historical and Cultural Heritage of the Peoples of the Republic of Tatarstan at Sh. Mardzhani Institute of History of the Republic of Tatarstan Academy of Sciences. The monograph is dedicated to the history of Tatar villages inhabitants in the Arsk District of the Republic of Tatarstan (Old Ashit, Old and New Keener, Mamsim, Tashkich). The article highlights the great importance of the book in studying the Tatar rural population of the North Trans-Kazan region, as well as in the restoration of unknown pages from the biographies of prominent Tatar figures of religious and cultural enlightenment.
