“History of Astana Tatars (19th – erly 21st century)” is the first attempt of a comprehensive study of the formation and development of the large ethnic group of Tatars in the territory of Central Kazakhstan in the city of Astana. In the current conditions of the development of migration processes and the existence of independent states, interest in the history of individual ethnic groups living in a foreign environment is quite large. In the peer-reviewed work a variety of documentary materials are introduced into the scientific circulation for the first time. The city of Astana today is quite a large metropolis with a motley ethnic component. Unification of folk customs, reduction of the native language use, weakening of interest in the national culture, actualizes the given research topic. The monograph contains a large amount of photo materials from archival and private collections, archives and field research materials are used, which contributes to the scientific significance of the work.
