Some epigraphic monuments associated with Sh. Marjani A.M. Gainutdinov
334-344 p. doi.org: 10.22378/he.2018-3-2.334-344 The article is devoted to the description of some Tatar grave stones of the 19th and early 20th centuries, preserved in a cemetery of New Tatar Sloboda in Kazan. The given monuments are set on the graves of scholar Shihabutdin Marjani’s family members of. In 2017 the Institute of History organized research field trips in the cemetery of New Tatar Sloboda in Kazan in order to identify all the preserved epigraphic monuments. During the expeditions it was possible to find and read the texts of the tombstones installed in honor of eminent personalities, clergymen, and scientists. For example, we can mention the monuments related to such great personalities like Sh. Marjani. The author personally identified, explored the monuments associated with Marjani and provided a transcript of their texts.
